Every year, Minecraft’s Mob Vote sparked fierce debates in the community as players chose which creature would join the game—leaving others forever relegated to “what could have been” status. Now you can add Mob Vote mobs into Minecraft Bedrock that have lost, such as: Iceologer, Moobloom, Rascal, Crab, Glare, and Penguin.
Mob Vote 2020
The Iceologer
This ice-wielding illager variant would have brought magical combat to snowy mountain biomes. The Iceologer could summon floating ice chunks and hurl them at players, adding a genuine threat to otherwise peaceful frozen peaks. Fans of challenging combat and illager lore were disappointed when it lost to the Glow Squid, especially since it would have made mountain exploration more exciting before the Caves & Cliffs update. The concept had real gameplay potential—a ranged attacker in biomes that desperately needed more engagement.

The Moobloom
A flower-covered cow variant that would have interacted with bees, the Moobloom represented peaceful, aesthetic gameplay. It would have added visual charm to flower forests and created interesting dynamics with Minecraft’s pollination mechanics. While adorable, many players felt it was too similar to existing passive mobs and lacked compelling gameplay reasons to exist. It appealed to builders and casual players but couldn’t compete against voters wanting more functional additions.

Mob Vote 2022
The Rascal
A hide-and-seek playing mob found in deep underground caves, the Rascal would have rewarded players with mining-related tools and items after being found multiple times. It aimed to make early-game cave exploration more rewarding and add a friendly face to dangerous depths. However, critics argued the rewards (likely iron-tier pickaxes and torches) wouldn’t appeal to experienced players who’d already progressed beyond that point. It felt like a novelty that would quickly become irrelevant in established worlds.

The Tuff Golem
Another golem variant, the Tuff Golem would have been craftable and served as a mobile item display—periodically wandering around before freezing in place like a statue while holding items. Builders and decorators loved the concept of animated display cases and the aesthetic potential of living statues. It offered unique decoration options that no other mob provided, making builds feel more alive. Many felt it deserved to win over the Sniffer purely for its practical building applications and charm.
Mob Vote 2023
The Crab
This coastal creature would have allowed players to extend their reach by one block when wearing its claw as a hand equipment piece. The extra reach had significant implications for building, combat, and parkour, making it popular among technical and PvP communities. It would have inhabited mangrove swamps and beaches, adding life to coastal biomes. The crab represented functional gameplay enhancement rather than just another passive mob, which made its loss particularly frustrating for players who valued mechanical improvements over aesthetics.
The Penguin
An adorable Antarctic bird that would have increased boat speed when nearby, the Penguin appealed to players wanting cute animals and ice biome improvements. While charming, it faced criticism for being too similar to existing passive mobs and offering relatively minor functionality. The boat speed boost felt niche compared to other candidates’ features. Still, penguin supporters argued that ice biomes desperately needed more life and character, and adding charismatic megafauna would have made frozen regions feel less empty and forgettable.
